Established early 2007, Bodtrade 54 is a small but growing concern
which leverages the power of branding to take FMCG products to
the hotel, restaurant and café trade. Headquartered in
Cape Town, South Africa, Bodtrade54 is also active in the telecoms,
pharmaceutical and medical, education and entertainment environments.
The company was famously taken to task at the United Kingdom’s
Intellectual Property Office by Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin
Enterprises group of companies for using the word ‘virgin’
in marketing and communications messaging. It is the first time
in the history of Virgin Enterprises that a company other than
Virgin has secured a trademark including the word ‘virgin’
apart from some marks registered for olive oil in which the word
is descriptive. Accordingly, Bodtrade 54 has registered the trademark:
You can’t be a virgin all your life it’s time…
